About

About
Hello  and welcome to No Limits Sports Club's website
'No Limits' are a West Lothian based multi-sports club for children and young people with disabilities. The club has a membership of about 60 people most of whom come from the West Lothian area. We have been in existence for 22 years and were assisted by West Lothian Council's Sports Development Unit in the early stages. Whilst the main multi-sports section meets weekly at Linlithgow, we also has a very active boccia section which meet independently at Bathgate Academy's Sports Unit on a Friday evening and a Gym/fitness section which meets on Sunday afternoons at Bellsquarry. At Linlithgow we do a variety of sports including; football, basketball, hockey, carpet bowls, new age curling, badminton, table tennis, darts, and rounders. The club members have taken part in many local, regional and national competitions including, boccia, carpet Bowls, table tennis and the 'Special Olympics'. We regularly send teams to the national boccia championships and have achieved notable successes in this sport, producing  no less than three Scottish Champions at junior and senior level. The club is run by a combination of young people, parents and volunteers and there is a high level of interaction with the  local community. We do not rely on any specific funding stream and  generate our income  via voluntary contributions, fundraising events and  funding applications to recognised bodies like the 'Big Lottery Fund' . The club have organised more than 52 weekend adventure holidays – at Badaguish, in Aviemore (2 weekends per year ) and at the Calvert Trust Centre at Kielder (one week per year ) taking on average between 30 and 40 people at a time.

Along with our regular activities we hold four ten pin bowling competitions a year, four indoor archery sessions at Linlithgow  and four outdoor archery sessions  at Beecraigs.

Since 2008 the club has supplied archery instructors in a joint venture with 'Lothian Disability Sport' to provide weekly archery sessions for people with disabilities in  at Blackburn Community (Partnership) Centre.

We have won numerous awards over the years, and, in 2015 won the "Queen's Award" for voluntary service. The club is a registered charity SC026826 and works closely with other charitable organisations in the area. Committee members meet monthly to review and conduct the business of the club and are encouraged to undertake training and coaching courses and organise trips to sporting events both locally and nationally.
